    Air conditioners and heat pumps

    Air conditioners include heat pumps, central air conditioning systems, split units, and wall-mounted air conditioning units used to condition the air in a residence or heat a swimming pool.

    Residents from the former municipality of Laval-sur-le-Lac must contact the Service de l'urbanisme as a specific bylaw applies to that sector.

    The water-cooled air conditioners are prohibited.

    Fees

    No fees.

    Procedures

    No permit is required to install, move or change the location of an air-conditioner.However, the owner must ensure its installation meets the standards prescribed by zoning Bylaw L-2000.

    Filling, excavation and landscaping in shoreline areas, flood plains and agricultural lands is strictly regulated. Contact the Urban planning department to check whether a permit is required.
