  • Make sure all the pockets in your bag are properly closed.
  • Carry your wallet in one of the front pockets of your pants.

At the automatic teller machine

  • Choose an ATM in a well lit and busy location.
  • If you feel observed or in danger, go back later.
  • Do not write down your personal identification number (PIN); memorize it.
  • When using your bank card, hide the keypad when entering your PIN at all times.
  • Count your money before getting to the ATM, and once there, be quick to carry out the operation.
  • Do not accept help to carry out transactions, except from bank staff.
  • Avoid putting your statements in the ATM waste basket, as they contain personal information.
