The SSIL also helps <a href=\"https:\/\/www.laval.ca\/en\/firefighter\/about\/fire-risk-coverage-plan\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"26692\">manage risks and civil protection<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Service de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 incendie de Laval has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.laval.ca\/en\/firefighter\/about\/fire-stations\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"26695\">nine fire stations<\/a> spread out across Laval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, Laval firefighters respond to the following disasters and emergencies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Life-threatening emergencies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hazardous materials spill<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Road and boating accidents, or extrications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flooding<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ice and water rescues<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gas leaks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Values of the SSIL<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To complement its mission, the SSIL has identified values that allow it to fulfil its vision. These values guide its everyday actions and decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rigour<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The SSIL\u2019s client-centered approach calls for a high level of quality. These values are the inspiration for its quality approach, which demonstrates its determination, thoroughness and efficiency and reflects its professionalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Agility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Occupations within the SSIL focus on education to ensure that the department is able to adapt to all types of situations. Its values help it understand challenges and demonstrate versatility and proactiveness in adapting to the changing needs of its environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Proximity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Occupations within the SSIL are based on teamwork. Their values are those of a community where unity and proximity make for closer ties with residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Respect<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Respect is the cornerstone of the SSIL\u2019s value system. The SSIL respects the contribution of its members and their individual capabilities.
