The swimming pool must meet certain clearance requirements in relation to fences, buildings, and other installations on your property.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-grey-100-background-color has-background is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-e0082cf6 wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p><strong><strong>3 \u2013 Prepare a layout plan<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Draft a precise plan for your project. The plan should include the following details:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Location of the swimming pool in relation to the building and property limits&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Existing trees and trees to be felled with their diameter breast height\u202f(tree trunk diameter at 1.3 m from the highest ground level)\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Distance from property limits\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Distance from all permanent structures&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Location and height of enclosure&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If the pool is located in a flood plain or a riverside area, the layout plan must be drafted by a land surveyor and must include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The level of the ground floor in relation to the 1 in 100-year flood event standard&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The location of any waterway or lake&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The limit of the high-water line, the shoreline and the low- and high-velocity current zones as determined by a biologist&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Geodetic altitude of the property<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-grey-100-background-color has-background is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-e0082cf6 wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p><strong>4 \u2013 Gather the necessary documents<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure you have the required documents:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.laval.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/formulaire-piscine.pdf\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.laval.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/formulaire-piscine.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Completed and signed application form for swimming pools and spas<\/a> (PDF, 466 ko)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Layout plan to scale prepared by the applicant or the land surveyor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mandatory certificate of location prepared\u00a0 by the land surveyor.\u00a0 \u00a0<br>The plan must represent the existing situation and be recent.\u00a0\u00a0<br><br>In flood plains or riverside areas:\u00a0\u00a0\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Identify the shoreline&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify flood levels&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Delineate flood zones, the special intervention zone (ZIS) and the highest known flood levels (PHEC)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Photo of the yard where the swimming pool will be installed.
