Ville de Laval

City Day Camps

As of June 29, 2020, the day camps offered by Ville de Laval will be welcoming children with an adjustment in the services offered in order to comply with the guidelines of the Direction générale de la santé publique and to thoroughly ensure the safety of campers and staff, without neglecting the "fun and games" focus, which continues to be at the heart of the day camps' mission.

On this page, you will find full information on these day camps. Considering the fast-changing nature of the situation this year, we recommend that you check this page regularly.

General information

June 29 - August 14, 2020, Ville de Laval will be offering regular day camps for children age 6-12.

For the summer of 2020, the day camps will be offering their services in keeping with the following four guidelines of the Québec government's public health authorities :

  1. Ensure that physical distancing of 2 metres between children is maintained and organize the physical environment in such a way as to make it possible to maintain this distance between all individuals.

  2. Give priority to outdoor locations when planning activities and limit the use of indoor premises for rainy weather only, while ensuring that the maximum number of participants allowed per room is not exceeded in order to maintain the required physical distance between individuals.

  3. Minimize direct and indirect contact between individuals, particularly by planning activities and games that limit the sharing of non-disinfected equipment and materials between participants (balls, pencils, brushes, scissors, helmets, disguises, bows and arrows, etc.).

  4. Strictly apply hygiene measures, including cleaning and disinfection of the premises, equipment, furnishings and sanitary facilities as well as individual hygiene routines, including hand washing by campers and staff.

We recommend that you create or update your online family file before the start of the registration period.

Regular day camps

Registration for the regular day camps will begin at noon on June 10, 2020.

The day camps will be open June 29 - August 14, 2020,  8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and will accommodate 6-12-year-old children. Please note that there will be no extended supervision hours this year; this service will be replaced by extended camp hours.

Since 2013, all camps have been complying with the Association des camps du Québec (ACQ)'s terms of reference for municipal day camps, which certify the quality of the services offered. The ACQ, in collaboration with various partners, has developed a special guide, approved by Public Health authorities, for holding camps during the COVID-19  pandemic. This publication has made it possible to provide guidelines for the procedures to be followed for holding day camps for the 2020 season on Laval territory.

Camp staff is also qualified and DAFA certified (Diplôme d'aptitude aux fonctions d'animateur). In addition, each employee has up-to-date certification in emergency first aid (first aid with CPR-AED).

Municipal day camps are offered until August 14, 2020. For day camps available from August 17 to 21, 2020, please consult the list of day camps offered by partner organizations
