The responsibilities of the Service des ressources humaines include:

• Hiring employees to work in the various municipal departments
• Providing support to the City's employees, by managing various services and programs, including payroll, employee benefits and training as well as health and safety operations
• Providing support for the activities of the various municipal departments to ensure employee development and advancement in a stimulating working environment, with respect and integrity
• Ensuring the quality of services offered by Ville de Laval, by evaluating its employees on a regular basis
